Why Do We Like These Clips? Maybe Because Most Of Us Regard Criminals As Slimeballs
Posted by admin / Under Film StockThis suspicion that we have exorcised the fear of the law from the criminal mind with soft policing and a caring judiciary is often reinforced by the actions of the law when an ordinary citizen seeks to defend his or her property or physical safety when confronted by lawbreakers hence the frisson of delight most of us have in movie scenes where the tables are turned on some criminal who expects his victim to be terrified into meek obedience when faced with the threat of violence by knife .
Photography pioneer Kodak files for long-expected bankruptcy
Posted by admin / Under Film StockEastman Kodak Co., a vanguard name in photography, finally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Thursday following falling sales and rising speculation about its ability to stay afloat. But printed photos seem well on their way to becoming a hipster curiosity as digital technologies -- which originated at Kodak decades ago -- now dominate on smartphones and, to a shrinking degree, cameras. The company, which was also exposed to heavy foreign...

Iron Lady, Feeble Film

Stolinsky Jan. 12, 2012 http://cloud.frontpagemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/meryl_streep.jpg The current film ÂThe Iron Lady purports to give an account of the life and career of Margaret Thatcher, former prime minister of the United Kingdom. In this the film fails. It does provide a superb vehicle for Meryl Streep to display her well-known acting talent. But instead of an overview of Lady ThatcherÂs career and accomplishments, it portrays a version so slanted that one might suspect it was written and produced by leftists who were no admirers of Thatcher. Oh wait, it was. We are shocked...

The Michigan Film Office receives the film subsidy money from taxpayers. Michael LaFaive, director of the Morey Fiscal Policy Initiative for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, says that the $2.7 million is actually an opportunity cost sunk in expensive subsidies, such as those allocated for "Hung"'s production...

In his long and prolific musical career, he has written more soundtracks for cowboy movies than one would care to remember. He is the man we have to thank for the actual term spaghetti western. He is the guy who helped turn Clint Eastwood into a household name. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A Fist Full of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More are some of the most popular movies that featured Morricones soundracks.
